This project started in 2021 on a whim during lockdown. I put out a call on social media for anyone who was interested to send me a photo of their face with a neutral expression. The response was far greater than I was expecting, as was the impact of the project on myself and others. The project became a way for me to fill my studio with people when no one could visit the studio in person. It also became a way for people to connect with each other and become part of a larger community through paint. It has been exhibited at the MusuemLab in Pittsburgh and written up in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Phase one of the project is complete and totals 45 portraits, but I hope to continue the project in the future. Thank you to everyone who has generously agreed to let me paint them so far.
